ICM relies on Chroma-Q® Color Force II Plus™

The ICM International Congress Center Messe Munich is investing in Color Force II Plus high-performance LED battens from Chroma-Q.

The ICM Congress Center Munich is a modern event venue located in the east of Munich. With its 20 halls, a usable exhibition area of ​​7,000 square metres and a total capacity of 6,000 people it offers space for large conferences, meetings, exhibitions and other functions. This flexibility and the latest equipment make it a popular venue for national and international events.

Given the luminous intensity of LED battens, illuminating the high halls of the ICM is a challenge. At the beginning of 2024, 20 Color Force II 48 Plus battens were delivered by German distributor, Feiner Lichttechnik.

Marvin Maulbetsch, Head of Lighting Technology at ICM commented:

“There were various models from different manufacturers and designs to choose from. The following were important for the decision-making process: very good light output, exceptional colour rendering and even brightness at great heights, along with no hotspots at the bottom edge of the canvas.

“In addition, the fixtures should not only be able to be used to illuminate the back wall, but also be able to light large areas or be used for parties. Therefore, they had to be versatile and attach to trusses both horizontally and vertically. Based on this, the decision was made to go with the Color Force II.”

Marvin Maulbetsch gave his verdict on the use and initial experience:

“The fixtures were delivered in the new Plus version, which are brighter than the previous model. Both the project managers and customers are enthusiastic about the colour quality and the light output.

“The fixtures have already been used several times and have always been impressive.”

The new Color Force II Plus models are brighter than the previous models, but have the same colour saturation, light quality and homogenous output. The Color Force II Plus are designed for concert, theatre and touring amongst others. They are suitable as front and effect lights as well as for illuminating high walls and opera screens. All Plus models are compatible with the previous models and are available in the same three lengths: 0.3m / 1 ft, 1.2m / 4 ft, and 1.8m / 6 ft.
